There are several different types of carpet which utilize Cut Pile. The first is called “Plush.” Plush carpets are soft to the touch and richly textured. The second iteration is “Saxony.” This carpet is created by twisting two piles or more and using heat to set it. It is an elegant carpet appropriate for formal settings. The third type is “Textured.” These carpets are available in a wide range of patterns and styles. Among the most versatile of this group, it is appropriate for both casual and formal settings and can withstand heavy foot traffic. The fourth type of Cut Pile is “Frieze.” These carpets are among the most durable and resilient carpets manufactured. They are easy to clean and typically hold up well with heavy usage.

A Level Loop pile, displayed above, is advisable if your room experiences quite a bit of use; therefore, it is quite popular in commercial venues. Finally, the Cut and Loop pattern is a combination of both styles which serve to enhance various patterns and textures. The effect of certain loops being cut while others remain uncut makes this carpeting distinctive.
